Sterling was one of those towns that I have always heard of but never quite knew where it was at.    I wanted to make my way further west on K-96.  So luckily, Sterling, Kansas was on the route I was taking.  This was a neat little town.  For some reason on a Sunday afternoon, there was quite a bit of movement on the main street of town.  One of the first things that caught my attention was a Dillon's grocery store that looked exactly like the old Dillon's markets in Wichita.  Downtown Sterling had some wonderful old buildings.  The one that stood out the most was the masonic lodge.

I had also forgot that Sterling College was also in the town.  The administration building looks like a castle.  So if you happen to be on K-96 and pass Sterling, stop and take some time to enjoy the town - Royce
